Set up in January 2021 by Tengku Puteri Raja Tengku Puteri Iman Afzan Al-Sultan Abdullah, The Green Ribbon Group is a social enterprise aiming to unify and empower all members of the Malaysian mental health landscape, through advocacy, fundraising and collaboration.
At MMHA, we are proud to collaborate with The Green Ribbon Group in promoting awareness, influencing public perception positively and providing Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training and accreditation for young volunteers.
The ‘green ribbon’ is an international symbol for mental health awareness. Wear a green ribbon to show loved ones, friends or simply anyone you meet that you care about their mental health. It can also be worn in memory of a loved one.
Show your support for The Green Ribbon Group today by visiting https://greenribbongroup.com/ and get involved!
Apart from generous donations from goodwilled groups and individuals, MMHA also raises funds through merchandise sales on our MMHA Store.
All items in our store are contributions from our various partners, with 100% of its proceeds channelled to sustaining our various programmes, especially the subsidising of therapy and rehabilitation fees for those who cannot afford these essential services.
While our online store is still being developed, you can still purchase a Green Ribbon metal pin from us. The green ribbon signifies your concern on how mental well-being is still a taboo and that you are open to talk about it. Put it on to give a message to the world and show solidarity with those struggling silently.
We need you! Our public education events, Ad-Hoc Projects and the editorial work of MMHA bulletin would need the support of volunteers to ensure our capability to reach out to the public to create mental health awareness and advocate for the welfare of people with mental illness.
